About

Some things are hard to describe but easy to feel. Pick up one of our frames and you'll know.

Wildbrook Artistry is a small workshop in Arroyo Grande, California, on the Central Coast. We make solid wood picture frames one at a time — chopped, joined, and painted by hand, in colors we mix ourselves.

The paint is natural chalk paint: chalk and pigment, mixed in our shop. It doesn't self-level like modern paint, so the brush strokes stay in the finish. That's the point. Each frame is painted after it's assembled, so the color wraps the corners as one piece. Once the paint has cured, every frame is waxed by hand for a soft, deep finish that pre-painted moulding can't match.

We build them like the front matters all the way around: premium 2.5 mm glass, real plywood backing, pre-installed hangers, and custom easel backs cut in our own shop. Felt bumpers protect your wall and the paint.

Every color has a name and a story — from Monet's Garden to Kissing Booth — and if you'd like a size we don't list, we'll chop it custom at no extra charge. Just ask.
